Nearly 100 Arrested in College Drug Bust

Drug%20Tash%20Force.jpg

(AOL) - San Diego State University has suspended six fraternities after a sweeping drug investigation that landed members of three fraternities in jail on suspicion of openly dealing drugs on campus.

1 of 5 Authorities on Tuesday said they arrested nearly 100 people, most of them students, in a sweeping drug bust at San Diego State University. Here, bags of drugs and handguns that were seized in the investigation are pictured.

The probe - prompted by the cocaine overdose death last year of a freshman sorority member - led to the arrests of 96 people, 75 of them San Diego State students. A second drug death occurred during the investigation.

Twenty-nine people were arrested early Tuesday in raids at nine locations including the Theta Chi fraternity, where agents found cocaine, Ecstasy and three guns. Eighteen of those arrested were wanted on warrants for selling to undercover agents.

Theta Chi and five other fraternities have been suspended pending a hearing on evidence gathered during the investigation, dubbed Operation Sudden Fall.

Authorities said some fraternity members openly dealt drugs, and that one sent a mass text message advertising special prices on cocaine. Two kilograms of cocaine were seized in all, along with 350 Ecstasy pills, marijuana, psychedelic mushrooms, hash oil, methamphetamine, illicit prescription drugs, several guns and at least $60,000 in cash, authorities said. Derrick%20L.%20Foster.jpg

(The Columbus Dispatch) Two men -- one a former Ohio State football player -- have been charged with shooting two Columbus police officers during a drug raid last night.

Michael T. Gravely, 19, and Derrick L. Foster, 38, are each charged with two counts of felonious assault and two counts of attempted murder in the shootings of Officers John Gillis and Anthony Garrison. This afternoon, both officers are out of surgery at Grant Medical Center. Though their conditions are not considered life-threatening, they may remain hospitalized for several days.

Gillis, 48, and Garrison, 44, are both 21-year police veterans. They were identified in the police complaint in Franklin County Municipal Court.

Foster is a code-enforcement supervisor in the city's Development Department, making $29.76 an hour, according to city records. He oversees the Milo-Grogan neighborhood. Click here read full Scoopy Doop.

Dayton City's Manager involved in Traffic Ticket SCANDAL!

RYoung.jpg

(Dayton Daily News) City Manager Rashad Young on Monday released new details about the traffic stop of a city hall employee that led to the investigation of a Dayton police major.

Young said police stopped Larry Miller Jr. on Dec. 12 and gave him a citation for driving with a suspended license. Police Maj. Mike Brown is on paid administrative leave while Internal Affairs determines if he violated department policy by nullifying that ticket.

According to Dayton police general orders, "under no circumstances should a driver with a suspended license be permitted to drive away. Drivers who are under suspension and who are not booked should still be cited and the vehicle towed."

Miller was on his way to the Fair River Oaks Council Priority Board Christmas Party at the Up On Main building, 1919 N. Main St. Officers stopped him in or near the parking lot.

Brown's attorney, Steve Dankof, said the officers, after learning Miller worked at City Hall, called their boss, who was at the party along with his supervisor, Brown. They asked what they should do.

Brown did not know Miller had a gun in his car and was unaware of Miller's criminal history, Dankof said. That information came forward in March after Miller was charged with the sexual battery of a co-worker.

In 1989, Miller shot a Central State University police officer during a robbery. He pleaded guilty to attempted aggravated murder but didn't mention the conviction when he applied for the city job. The city fired Miller April 2. Click here read full Scoopy Doop Cover UP!!

A Woman's Father Kept Her in Dungeon for 24 Years

(AOL) - A man has confessed to imprisoning his daughter for 24 years in windowless cell with a soundproofed door and fathering seven children with her, police said Monday.

Austrian police say the father of a 42-year-old woman identified as Elisabeth F. confessed to holding her captive for 24 years in this hidden bedroom in the cellar of a house in Austria. The room had a thick soundproof door leading to it.

The man, now 73, also told investigators that he tossed the body of one of the children in an incinerator when the infant died shortly after birth, said Franz Polzer, head of the Lower Austrian Bureau of Criminal Affairs.

"We are being confronted with an unfathomable crime," Interior Minister Guenther Platter said.

The daughter, who is now 42, had been missing since 1984 and was found by police in the town of Amstetten on Saturday evening after police received a tip. Click here read full bizarre Scoopy Doop
